At Iffley Vets we provide an out-of-hours emergency service 24/7 so that you need never worry about your pet’s health and well-being.  Please dial the usual numbers and follow the prompts – DO NOT use our email for urgent enquiries.  We can give urgent advice or arrange to see your pet when the surgery is closed for routine matters.  Out-of-hours consultations will be at the Woodstock 24hour hospital where a dedicated vet and nurse will be able to care for your pet.  It is possible to carry out a home visit but this is rarely in the best interests of your pet as diagnostic and treatment options are very limited.

In order to partially cover the high costs of providing this service there are additional charges for appointments and services carried out after normal hours, and as with daytime work payment is due at the time unless by specific prior arrangement. If your pet is admitted for further treatment or investigation 50% of the estimated cost will be payable in advance with the balance due on discharge/completion.

HOSPITALISED PATIENTS

We have good hospitalisation facilites at Iffley Road and a Vet and Nurse are available overnight although there is not routinely someone stationed here. Visits are made to check and treat patients at a frequency determined by the vet’s assessment of the case, and a nurse is available should help be needed. If we are in any doubt about the safety of this approach for any case, or if you should request it, we can arrange transfer to the Woodstock hospital which offers continuous nursing care. In this eventuality, charges will be payable by you directly to that practice.
