We can help you 24/7
At Iffley Vets we provide an out-of-hours emergency service 24/7 so that you need never worry about your pet’s health and well-being. We can give urgent advice or arrange to see your pet when the surgery is closed for routine matters – which would be at our Iffley Road site. It is possible to carry out a home visit but this is rarely in the best interests of your pet as diagnostic and treatment options are very limited.
In order to partially cover the high costs of providing this service there are additional charges for appointments and services carried out after normal hours, and as with daytime work payment is due at the time unless by specific prior arrangement. If your pet is admitted for further treatment or investigation 50% of the estimated cost will be payable in advance with the balance due on discharge/completion.
We have good hospitalisation facilites at Iffley Road and a Vet and Nurse are available overnight although there is not routinely someone stationed here. Visits are made to check and treat patients at a frequency determined by the vet’s assessment of the case, and a nurse is available should help be needed. If we are in any doubt about the safety of this approach for any case, we shall offer transfer to a practice offering continuous nursing care until they are more stable.
COVID-19 CONTINGENCY PLANNING
At certain times we may maintain unbroken cover with the help of Bicester Vets – an independent accredited small animal hospital in the heart of Bicester. They have facilites for 24 hour care and an on-site nurse providing continuous care and a dedicated on-call vet to deal with any emergencies. Transfer of your call should happen automatically after dialling our usual number but if there is a problem you can call directly on 01869 252077.
Bicester Vets, Victoria Road, BICESTER OX26 6PJ
As with our practice, payment is due at the time and all charges will be explained before an appointment is made or work carried out – prices may differ from ours.
